Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language to conduct interactive lessons of Russian language for foreign youth as part of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO 2014) in Sochi
The World Robot Olympiad Russia 2014 is to take place in Sochi 21-23 November as part of the international robotics forum Sochi Robotics Days.
Every day instructors from the Pushkin Institute will give hour-long Russian language lessons for forum participants from countries other than Russia. The instructors will be aided by a “teaching assistant” robot, which will be brought in to Sochi from South Ural State University.
Margarita Rustskaya, the Rector of Pushkin Institute, will give presentations at several round table discussions: on 22 November, she will present on “Social partnership in the development of Russia’s science and technological potential through a complex system of talent management and creation of a positive image of the country in areas of strategic interest” and “Best practices in educational robotics”.
The Pushkin Institute will also organize a stand at the forum’s interactive exhibition. Their stand will focus on a program for promotion of Russian language and Russian-language education.
Anyone may sign up for remote Russian as a foreign language courses on the Education in Russian Language web-site in advance of WRO Russia 2014.
The international forum will serve as a platform for an open discussion involving representatives of government, rectors from top Russian institutes of higher learning, businesspeople, teachers, and children from over 50 countries.
The international forum Sochi Robotics Days is being organized by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science with the official support of the Russian Ministry of Mass Media and the Krasnodar Regional Administration.
