Prokhorov decides not to run for Moscow City Duma

Russian oligarch Mikhail Prokhorov has decided not to run for election to the Moscow City Duma.

Russian oligarch Mikhail Prokhorov has decided not to run for election to the Moscow City Duma.
"I am not considering myself as a candidate for the Moscow City Duma," he said on the Vesti FM radio station on Tuesday.
Prokhorov added that his party "was preparing for the election consistent with its internal schedule."
Yesterday Prokhorov announced that his company Onexim had sold off its innovative Yo-mobile project - a new Russian hybrid car that would have been the first of its kind developed in Russia. Following his statement, many experts in Russian media expressed the opinion that the sale indicates Prokhorov is putting an end to his political career, because the Yo-mobile was a prestige project for him.
In March 2012, Prokhorov ran in presidential elections in Russia and took third place, receiving the support of nearly 8 percent of voters. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, he took second place, and at a polling station in London he even came first.
