The Krasnodar Territory Administration has announced that the Russian Foreign Ministry has decided to simplify the procedure for foreigners planning to attend the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi on October 12 to obtain a visa.

Furthermore, the organizers of Russia's first F1 Grand Prix are arranging for Russian Railways to provide free transport for fans on its Lastochka electric trains.

Twenty-two pairs of trains will be able to carry at least 1,000 people and will depart every five minutes, according to the Krasnodar Administration.

In the words of Krasnodar Territory Governor Alexander Tkachev, speaking at the organization committee's first session, the sporting facilities are 92 percent ready: The buildings for housing the participating teams are now completed, as well as the medical center and the heliport. The racetrack itself is 94 percent ready, with the final layer of asphalt already having been applied.
