Game of Thrones TV star to perform in Turgenev play

Actors Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister from the TV series 'Game of Thrones') and Taylor Schilling (Piper Chapman of 'Orange in the New Black') will perform in the stage production of A Month in the Country, a play written in 1850 by Russian writer Ivan Turgenev.

Posters published on the website of the New York theatrical group Classic Stage Company (CSC) advertise Dinklage in the role of Rakitin and Schilling in the part of Natalya Petrovna.

Fans reacted enthusiastically. “It sounds like a TV fan's dream – Tyrion Lannister and Piper Chapman have set out to mix their roles in order to get the Emmy and Tony awards at the same time, but alas, this is impossible,” commented one fan on hearing the news.

This performance was part of a stellar season on the CSC 2014/15 stage, which also involved the actors Peter Sarsgaard ('Green Lantern') in Hamlet and Chris Noth ('Sex and the City') in Faust.

The premiere of A Month in the Countryis scheduled for January 9, 2015.
