Thai police arrest alleged Russian mobster

Dmitry Rodionov was detained by police in Thailand at the request of the Russian bureau of Interpol, according to a media report.

Police in the Thai resort island of Phuket arrested an alleged Russian mobster from Vladivostok, who was wanted in Russia on a range of charges, The Phuket News reported.

Dmitry Rodionov, a native of Vladivostok, was detained by the Phuket police at the request of the Russian bureau of Interpol, according to the report.

“Rodionov was wanted on an Interpol red notice and the Russian government had canceled his passport,” an officer at Interpol Thailand told the paper.

Extradition proceedings have already been initiated against Rodionov.
