Mariinsky stars to perform at Chinese youth festival

Artists from St. Petersburg-based Mariinsky Theater will take part in the 8th China International Youth Arts Festival, TASS cited the Chinese Ministry of Culture as saying.

The festival will be held on August 18-28 in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, according to the report.

This year’s festival will be dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and includes 550 performances, operas and concerts, with 28 the participation of 28 countries.

Russia is the guest of honor in this year’s festival, according to the report.
